Challenge

Tikveš Winery, the leading winery in North Macedonia, needed to align with growing EU and global expectations around sustainability reporting. As a regional industry leader with international exports, the company sought to produce its first ESG report to meet stakeholder demands and position itself for future compliance with EU directives.

Action

As Project Coordinator and ESG Committee Member, Katerina:

  • Oversaw the full reporting process, ensuring cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Guided data collection and structuring across environmental, social, and governance metrics.
  • Contributed to the materiality assessment and integration of reporting frameworks.
  • Worked closely with management to align ESG commitments with the winery’s business strategy.

In 2025, the Textile Cluster significantly improved its sustainability capacity, enabling member SMEs to strengthen export readiness and better meet EU buyer expectations. The project fostered resilience, visibility, and long-term competitiveness in the textile sector.

Challenge

The Textile Cluster of North Macedonia, representing SMEs supplying to EU markets, faced growing pressure from international buyers to demonstrate sustainable practices. Limited knowledge of ESG frameworks risked undermining their export competitiveness.

Action

As a consultant engaged by SIPPO, Katerina:

  • Conducted diagnostics to assess the sustainability maturity of cluster members.

  • Delivered capacity-building workshops on ESG, CSRD awareness, and practical integration steps.

  • Developed tailored materials and tools to help SMEs start ESG adoption.

  • Guided the cluster in defining a sustainability roadmap for export competitiveness.
